As an 18-year old professional surfer, Donavon Frankenreiter certainly could have done worse than finding a room to rent from the parents of another guitar-strumming wave rider. Little did he, or Jack Johnson, know that from those humble beginnings on the North Shore of Oahu, they would both go on to achieve acclaim for their singing and songwriting. Like Johnson, whose Brushfire Records released Frankenreiter's self-titled debut in 2004, the native Californian has successfully kept one foot in the water and one hand on the guitar. He tours the world incorporating his love for music, surfing and surf videos with a collaboration of long-time friends.
