While he may have been born and bred in Brookline, Eli "Paperboy" Reed has followed his thirst for roots music straight to such authentic locales as Clarksdale, MS (where his newsboy styled cap earned him the nickname, "Paperboy") and Chicago, IL where he served as "Minister of Music" under soul singer Mitty Collier at a local church. Upon returning to Boston he went about assembling his dream band, the True Loves, and blowing away audiences with his high energy live sets. A record deal with Somerville-based Q Division Records brought more attention and eventually a major label deal with Capitol Records. Reed comes to the Life is good Festival after a summer spent criss-crossing Europe to wildly appreciative crowds.
