The Asheville, NC quintet, Toubab Krewe are no strangers to festival audiences, having played the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival as well as the even more remote Festival of the Desert in Essakane, Mali. Extended African travel to such culturally diverse locales as Guinea and the Ivory Coast has allowed the Toubab Krewe to soak up up the rich local influences as well as perform with the legends of these lands. This exposure has resulted in the band's dexterity with such exotic instruments as the kora, a 21 string harp-lute and the soku, a Malian horsehair fiddle. These relentless road warriors will follow the Life Is Good Festival with an October appearance at New Orleans' Voodoo Experience.
