Golden Great!
A Bright Sun-Shiny Day for First Life is good Festival in San Francisco
A big-time HIGH FIVE to everyone who made the Life is good Festival in Golden Gate Park a HUGE success! It was a sunny celebration for all ages on Saturday, May 16th. Our sweet musical lineup of ALO, Martin Sexton, and The Sippy Cups kept up a non-stop groove of great tunes and good vibes all day long. Meanwhile, spread across the green grass was all the outdoor nonsense we love to see: watermelon seed spitting contests, Wiffle ball home run derbies, flying discs, colorful crafts, classic backyard food, adventurous folks roving around in something called "Human Spheres," and everywhere those infectious smiles we love to see. Over 12,000 people came out to play.
We owe a special thanks to the big-hearted folks who began this festive day by taking our Good Walk for Kids. The funds they raised, added to donations collected all day, sponsor contributions, merchandise sales from the Life is good sales tent onsite, and Life is good fundraising products sold nationally all roll up to a hefty total of over $330,000 raised to date this year for the Life is good Kids Foundation! All funds raised at the Golden Gate Park event plus fundraising to come at two other major city festivals this year in Boston and St. Louis are earmarked for Project Joy, an exceptional nonprofit strengthening and healing children through play.
Thanks to all of you who made it a day to remember -- with a special shout-out to our partners and amazing volunteers, truly Jake's Crew.
