A big-time HIGH FIVE to everyone who made the Life is good Festival in Boston, our annual summer bash, a HUGE success! It was a true field day for all ages on Saturday, July 19th, with watermelon seed spitting contests, Wiffle ball bashing, flying discs, colorful crafts, classic backyard food, infectious smiles, and a non-stop groove of great tunes and good vibes flowing all over the nation's oldest public park, Boston Common. Over 30,000 people came out to play.
While some kicked back, others kicked it into high gear as waves of spirited weekend warriors vied for the coveted title of World's Greatest Backyard Athlete. In the end, a final dramatic role of the bocce ball brought the laurel crown to Scott Alterman of Atlanta, GA. Congratulations to Scott and more than 80 athletes, as well as all the friends who supported them.
A total of $630,634 was raised for the Life is good Kids Foundation, thanks to a banner day of fundraising in Boston combined with 100% of the profits generated from national sales of Life is good fundraising products. The Foundation will continue to benefit from additional Life is good Festivals and product sales through the remainder of 2008.
Thanks to all of you who made it a day to remember -- with a special shout-out to our partners and amazing volunteers, truly Jake's Crew.
