ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The Life is good Festival is a one-of-a-kind fundraiser event taking place the weekend of September 24th & 25th at Prowse Farm in Canton, MA. The festival is a two-day celebration of music and optimism, featuring three stages of nationally known musical talent, hands-on games, interactive arts activities, and the "Good Kids" zone — home to the top acts in kids entertainment. 100% of Life is good's profits from the Festival will go towards The Life is good Playmakers, helping kids overcome life-threatening challenges such as violence, illness and extreme poverty.

The goal of the weekend is to create a community of fundraisers. Festival-goers who raise $500 or more for The Life is good Playmakers will be rewarded with exclusive backstage hospitality, preferred concert viewing, artist meet and greets and other prizes. These fundraisers will be called VGP's — Very Good People — and will have a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience, as well as the satisfaction that comes naturally by simply being a very good person.

Life is good has once again teamed up with Superfly, acclaimed producers of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and Outside Lands, to assure an amazing festival experience.

Location

The Life is good Festival will be held on historic Prowse Farm in Canton, Massachusetts, conveniently located just off of Rte 93 (Rte 128) at exit 2B. The event site is 15 minutes from downtown Boston.

Map

The Life is good Festival is easily accessible via public transportation or car! If you choose to arrive by car, parking lots are located nearby. We encourage you to take the MBTA's commuter rail (aka the Love Train) to the festival. Taking the train is the number one way for our fans to reduce the impact our event has on the environment. (Plus, in addition to bringing your kids to a fun day of music and games...all kids love train ride, especially Love Train rides!) The Life is good Festival will also run bus shuttles to and from the Rt. 128 / University Ave train station all day - making it an easy, stress free trip!

Green Maching

Greening has increasingly become a core focus of outdoor festivals and events. At Life is good we are dedicated to a greener festival and each year strive to be greener than the last. One of the big ways we incorporate greening into our festival is our partnership with Clean Vibes. They focus on teaching festivalgoer's about greening by educating through action.

Who is Clean Vibes?

Clean Vibes shows festivalgoer's how easy it is to minimize one's waste footprint through recycling and composting in hopes that they might take this knowledge and apply it to their daily lives.

Clean Vibes is a turn-key operation providing consulting and onsite waste management for outdoor festivals and events. With over a decade of experience, Clean Vibes has a consistent track record of providing results. Clean Vibes works closely with Event Production staff to determine the waste management needs of the event to provide the best service. Working with local waste management haulers they can orchestrate the entire clean up from start to finish.

Clean Vibes puts the "clean" in our event, by providing:

Education: They help promote the awareness of trash/recycling/composting operations onsite. It is important for event-goers to become conscious of their surroundings and of their waste disposal habits.

Participation: The help encourage fan participation in innovative and creative ways — not only offering them the opportunity to clean up and recycle, but also provide them with the incentives to do so.

So what does it mean to be "green" at the Life is good Festival?

It means:

• 9,280 pounds of waste recycled

• 3,140 pounds of waste composted

• All together 42% of all waste diverted from landfill by weight! That's some pretty good teamwork!

What green practices will take place at the festival?

• Procurement: Ensuring that most of our festival supplies (cleaning materials, hospitality and vendor utensils) are compostable.

• Waste Management: Promoting proper recycling and trash removal onsite. Easily identifiable recycling receptacles will be evident throughout the festival site.

• Transportation: Encouraging all participants to travel to the festival via public transportation, via car-pooling, by bike or foot.

• Refillable Water Program: We are encouraging all concert attendees to choose refillable water over plastic water bottles to cut down on the plastic consumption and overall carbon footprint of the festival. For the second year in a row, we are offering refillable water options: either purchase a 2011 LIG water bottle at the water station onsite or the merchandise booth and receive free refills of spring water the entire festival or bring your own from home and purchase the refills. The refillable water station is located onsite in vendor row.

The tactics are simple, yet meaningful. Thanks for supporting our greening initiatives!

4. SERVICE ANIMALS — NEW LAW AND CHANGE IN POLICY

Service Dogs YES, Pets NO
Service DOGS and service miniature horses that are trained to assist an individual with a disability are allowed at the Life is good Festival. Other types of animals and pets are NOT allowed. Pets will be picked up and placed with the local humane society or patrons may take their pet to one of the local kennels.

Service animals must be under control, on-leash and along side of its handler at all times. Disruptive or dangerous animals will need to leave the site.

DO NOT bring animals that are not individually trained to assist you as a person with a disability. It is not safe for other patrons or for the animal. People who bring their pets and claim they are service animals are taking advantage of people with disabilities and threatening the health and safety of all.

Anyone who has questions or needs regarding their service animal may write to festivals@lifeisgood.com.

Service Animal Relief Area
There is a service animal relief area near the dog agility course.

5. MEDICAL CONSIDERATIONS

Syringes
A person bringing a syringe must be prepared to show medication in prescription packaging with name on the label, and photo ID.

Medical Waste Disposal
Please dispose of your medical waste and sharps in the proper disposal at the Medical Tent. Please do not dispose of these things in the trash barrels. We appreciate your consideration for our volunteers and staff who handle the trash bags.

Medical Services
An ambulance will be on-site to help you with any type of medical problem. If you need assistance, go to the medical tent, or look for a police officer or festival staff member.

Special Dietary Needs
Those who have special dietary needs may bring small amounts of food, for personal use only, into the venue. Factory sealed, non-glass, water bottles, or empty containers to fill at the water stations, are also allowed.
