Title: Product Manager

Job Summary

The Product Manager manages part of a product line from concept through production and collaborates with the VP of Product to achieve product initiatives. The Product Manager coordinates the material sourcing, costing, and commercial execution of certain products to achieve Company goals and timelines. This individual manages a product category and reports performance metrics which include: product execution as they relate to the corporate calendar, BOM costs and product commercialization status. The absolute definition of the Management function is the creation of accurate product specifications—BOMs, construction details, and measurements. Though this information may originate from multiple sources and through the participation of other entities, the Product Manager is responsible for the final form and quality of any individual product specification assigned to him/her.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong strategic relationships with management team of our sourced factories to ensure effective collaboration in meeting company objectives
  • Establish, communicate and manage raw materials and product development strategy
  • Works collaboratively with product design to ensure that products are designed to achieve both cost and technical standards
  • Establishes seasonal development capacity and calendar consistent with operating plan and go-to-market schedules
  • Work cross-functionally with Quality team to ensure clear understanding of all product quality standards for raw materials and finished goods, consistently manufacturing product to target standards
  • Work with Planning team to manage capacity planning to meet reliability and inventory targets
  • Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met or exceeded
  • Reviews analyses of critical success factors, costs, operational improvement initiatives and forecast data to determine the progress toward stated goals and objectives
  • Critical analysis of current and past sales history to develop product assortment plan.
  • Ensure sourced factories are compliant with Life is good’s Code of Conduct principles
  • Work with factory management to ensure continued progress against Code of Conduct targets

Experience and qualifications:

  • 5-7 years in Industry - experience in global consumer marketing/product management
  • Experience in planning and merchandising, preferably in the outdoor apparel industry
  • BA/BS desired
  • Understanding channels of distribution
  • Strong business orientation, analytical aptitude, and computer skills, specifically Microsoft Applications and PLM
  • Understanding brand aesthetic
  • Proven experience in financial line planning, business planning, and strategic planning.
  • Sense of urgency, teamwork skills, optimistic attitude
  • Travel required
