What We Do

The Life is good Playmakers provide innovative training and support to frontline child care professionals dedicated to helping children overcome life-threatening challenges, including violence, illness and extreme poverty.

In our training retreats and follow-up support offered through the United States and abroad, we inspire, empower and equip these dedicated frontline heroes to engage in healing, transformational play with the children in their care so that all involved lead healthier, more joyful lives.

Life can hurt:

Exposure to early childhood trauma is a silent epidemic. It is the most serious health crisis facing our nation's children, yet it remains largely invisible.

Play Can Heal:

Play is the medium through which children explore, learn, connect and joyfully engage with the surrounding world. Life is good Playmakers recognize the power of play to address the epidemic of childhood trauma. We provide training, resources, and support to the adults dedicated to caring for children facing life-threatening challenges.

What We Do

Certified Playmakers are child care professionals who have dedicated their lives to supporting the healthy development of children. Many of the children they serve have been exposed to early childhood trauma, such as violence, illness or extreme poverty. Playmakers include preschool teachers, early child care providers, Child Life Specialists, social workers, and any adults working primarily and directly with children. Our Playmaker Team certifies all Playmakers at our two-day training retreats, offered throughout the United States.

In addition to certification training, our team provides this growing community of Playmakers with play materials, resources, ongoing support, and networking opportunities. Together we are forming a powerful wave of joy and optimism - strong enough to heal and strengthen our most vulnerable children.
