Positive energy never dies. It lives on through the people with whom we’ve shared it. And continues to live on through the people with whom they’ve shared it. And on and on it goes - forever.
With this in mind, we are pleased to announce the creation of the Playmaker Forever Fund. The Playmaker Forever Fund celebrates and honors the legacy of remarkable Playmakers by awarding full-package scholarships that enable others to become Playmakers. Each scholarship will be awarded to the applicant who most embodies the spirit of the Playmaker honored and who is committed to carrying forward their beautiful work of building healing, life-changing relationships with children.
The Terri and Lupe Scholarship offers (1) full tuition coverage for Playmaker University. Upon certification from PMU, recipients are also entitled to one year of pre- selected Playmaker Events. (lodging and travel are not included))
Because once a Playmaker, always a Playmaker. Forever.
Terri entered the Playmaker Community when the original name was Project Joy. Terri’s energy was rooted in positivity, optimism, kindness, patience and joy! She was an early childhood educator and eventually became Director of Head Start in Cape Cod, MA. She was a shining light and emulated everything that encompasses a true Playmaker. Throughout her years as a playmaker, Terri truly enjoyed being in community, supporting other Playmakers and learning from one another to truly spread the power of play and healing to young children. With Terri’s dedication to engaging the community and expanding playmaker fun, in 2016, Terri and other playmakers helped create a retreat named Playmakers for Playmakers. The intention of this retreat was filled with opportunities for play, self-care, being in community, sharing new ideas and exploring individuals' creativity. This retreat continues to live the legacy of what our playmaker community is all about. Terri truly enjoyed creating, playing games, and simply being in the community. Family was a huge part in Terri’s life as well as her home town; Puerto Rico.
To earn the scholarship of honoring Terri’s legacy, we ask that recipients are dedicated to engaging their community, participating in Playmaker events to build connection and learning, to bring the power of playmaking into their early education classrooms and or schools, to find the joy in creating games and overall embody the true essence of love, joy, and optimism.
Terri, Once a playmaker, always a playmaker.
Lupe entered the Playmaker Community when the original name was Project Joy. Lupe’s energy was gentle, warm, soft and inviting. She was deeply close with Terri and participated in all the Playmakers for Playmakers retreat where she supported her fellow playmakers and immersed herself in the joy and play around her as well as Playmaker Events. Lupe was an Early Childhood Educator for HeadStart in Cape Cod, MA. She brought the superpowers of Playmakers to LIFE in her classrooms. She was a dedicated educator and playmaker through and through!
To earn this scholarship of honoring Lupe’s legacy, we ask that recipients are dedicated early childhood educators who will bring the 10 Playmaker Superpowers (courage, fun, humor, simplicity, gratitude, love, openness, creativity, authenticity, and compassion) to life within their classroom through games, play and more! Recipients must be in Early childhood Education.
