About Wistia

Michael Franti, poet, composer, social justice activist, lead singer of Michael Franti & Spearhead, unstoppable optimist and valued friend, has rocked out at several Life is Good events. Given up for adoption at birth, he has overcome obstacles to devote his adult life to spreading positive, empowering messages. His generosity of spirit is a product of his practiced gratitude and a reminder that what we focus on grows.

He shared these thoughts at a recent fundraiser for The Life is Good Playmakers: “It’s hard to be grateful all the time, you know? And some days I wake up and I feel like I’m on the wrong side of the bed and I can’t appreciate everything that happens around me. But I believe in practicing gratitude in the same way that you practice free throws, or anything else. You can consciously choose to focus on what you’re thankful for, rather than what frustrates you. And if you have positive thoughts, positive words, a positive mental attitude, and positive actions then eventually it becomes easier and easier to become positive.”

Do It For The Love

We recently designed a t-shirt (shown below) with Michael and his wife, Sara Agah Franti, to benefit their non-profit, Do It For The Love, a wish-granting organization that brings people living with life-threatening illnesses, children with severe challenges and wounded veterans to live concerts.

The shirts are sold exclusively at Michael’s concerts with proceeds benefiting Do It For The Love. Learn more about their organization and how you can get involved here: www.doitforthelove.org.
